John Scott, Lead Investigator
John earned his BA (1976) and MA (1983) in Anthropology from the University of Northern Colorado and participated in post-graduate anthropology studies at the American University in Washington D.C. His career at Metcalf began in 1985 as a seasonal crew chief and from 1998 to 2000 he served as the chief archaeologist for the Metcalf Bismarck office. Currently John is a senior staff archaeologist at the Metcalf Eagle office and has conducted cultural resource inventories in Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. He has also led excavations in Colorado, Utah, North Dakota, and Wyoming. John has extensive foreign travel experience and has directed excavations in the Caribbean and South America.
